Technotrans and AirMotion Systems announce European partnership

Technotrans has announced a European partnership with AirMotion Systems | AMS UV.

Under the agreement, announced at last week's Ipex, AMS will supply Technotrans digi.chiller cooling units as a standard option for all European XP5 and XP7 Series Peak LED UV drying systems for sheetfed and web kit.

The partnership has entailed Technotrans developing a special LED-optimised version of its chilling systems, and has been spurred on particularly by AMS now fitting wider printers with its systems.

“We are now shipping LED systems on to 1.5m systems and bigger, so the need for chilling is growing. The European LED market has really caught on in the last 12 months,” said president and chief executive of AMS Stephen Metcalf.

An AMS LED drying system shipping with a Technotrans unit would add a 5-10% uplift on cost, said Metcalf. Customers can still opt to source their own chilling unit from a different vendor.

AMS is US-based and designs and manufactures conventional UV as well as LED UV curing systems and related accessories. It offers both high-power Peak LED-UV curing systems and Smart-UV conventional UV systems.

Technotrans offers a range of water treatment, filtration, bulk and cartridge based inking, temperature control and water-cooled peripherals and humidification solutions.

At Ipex it showcased a new Technotrans beta.c.eco circulator with Komori’s Lithrone GL 540 press with H-UV curing technology.
