PrintWeek to produce Northprint Daily live at show

PrintWeek is to produce the daily paper at this year's Northprint show.

The Northprint Daily will be produced live throughout the show, which takes place on 10-12 May at Harrogate International Centre, and will report on all the latest signings and launches from the exhibition halls.

Printing will be handled by Ricoh, which will produce the work on its Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition machine - the first machine to form part of its recently announced partnership with Heidelberg.

The sheets will be delivered to IFS' stand overnight, and the supplier will undertake the finishing on a Horizon StitchLiner which will collate, plough fold, saddlestitch and three-knife trim the 12-page paper ready for distribution around the show.

PrintWeek publisher Emma Broderick said: "We're delighted to have been asked to produce the Northprint Daily and are looking forward to working with Ricoh and IFS on what will no doubt be real challenge in creating a truly unique print product from scratch, using live content, each day of the show.

"It's a great example of what companies can achieve working dynamically together."

Ricoh UK marketing director Chas Moloney said the Northprint Daily "will demonstrate the calibre of digitally printed output and we're very pleased to be helping deliver news to visitors throughout the three days of the show".

IFS joint managing director Bryan Godwyn added: "The Horizon equipment is designed for quick-response high-quality production and the StitchLiner has proved time and time again that it is the perfect complement to the modern printer's production workflow."

Meanwhile, organiser IIR has opened its pre-registrations service, with pre-registrants enjoying fast-track entry and exclusive access to industry reports.
