Pitney Bowes targets small firms with DM220 franking range

Pitney Bowes has launched its DM220 range of franking machines for small business users and e-shopping firms.

The DM220i enables users to frank up to 45 letters per minute in envelopes up to 9.5mm thick and weighing up to 5kg; it can also weigh items up to 35kg with the addition of an external weighing platform.

Customers can also track up to 100 client accounts to calculate mail costs and plan for budgets.

The DM160i is suited to companies with a smaller base of customers, franking up to 40, 2.5kg mail pieces a minute in envelopes up to 9.5mm thick and enabling tracking of 25 client accounts.

Both machines incorporate Pitney Bowes’ smart meter technology, allowing users to capture cost and market data and frank mail at the VAT-inclusive price while also generating a VAT invoice for HMRC claims.

Users can integrate the systems into their own network using a LAN connection, speeding up download time and eliminating the cost of an analogue line.

Pitney Bowes marketing director Phil Hutchinson said: "When you consider that franked mail now costs 27% (16p) less than using stamps for standard first class letters, has a more professional look and increased opening rates, the DM220 series is ideal for businesses sending any volume of post.

"The DM220 ensures that franking is an accessible method of sending post for businesses of all size, not merely larger companies."
