The company used the May event to place its new XDrum! UV platesetter, developed in partnership with Heidelberg, in the spotlight.
The XDrum! UV combines the exposing unit from Lüscher's XPose! UV, comprising laser diodes, optics, electronics and software, with a Heidelberg Suprasetter chassis.
Heidelberg said that the XDrum! was "a very interesting alternative for high consumption users", who could benefit from the lower cost of UV plates.
Pricing for the XDrum! UV starts from €100,000 (£81,000), which Lüscher said would be cost-effective for most printers producing 10,000-15,000sqm of plates a year.
The platesetter can expose up to 25 plates per hour and features an external drum design that can handle plate sizes up to a maximum 930mmx1,060mm.
Lüscher chief executive Anton Tanner said: "There was a high level of interest among expert visitors, proving that our product innovations are tailored to customer needs.
"Drupa 2012 gave us a platform to present our innovative CtP products in person, to maintain existing customer contacts and to generate promising new prospects."
According to Tanner, the company's large-format MultiDX! 240 flat-bed CtP system also drew visitors during the two weeks.
The MultiDX! 240 can process plates up to 1300x1100 mm and is designed for use with rigid and flexible screen printing forms.
The machine can expose both flexographic, offset and letterpress plates at a resolution of 5,080dpi for use in hot foil, embossing and punching applications.
