Industry veteran Trevor Rayment passes away

Print industry veteran and former Christmas card printer to the Queen Trevor Rayment has passed away at the age of 75 after a long illness.

The former managing director of Rayment-Holland was one of the few die-stampers to survive in the computer age and was the printer of the Royal family's Christmas cards.

Rayment was the youngest of three brother who ran Rayment-Holland during its third generation of family ownership.

His son Tim Rayment said: "Once a printer, always a printer. On his 75th birthday in March, Trevor opened a card from a family friend. 'Beautiful', he said.

"It seemed he was talking about the picture on the front, but he wasn't. '[He said] It's been foil blocked and embossed, with a litho background and a plain relief border surrounding the panel. And it's beautiful'."

Rayment is survived by his wife Gill, two sons, Tim and Jeremy, a stepson Alexander, and five grandchildren.
