The 15-staff company has also taken delivery of a Fujipla laminator and had its Xeikon digital colour press refurbished to a 2010 configuration.
Cri's latest investments come on the back of a contract win to supply a "world-famous" brewer with a raft of print collateral on a two-year deal.
According to Colin Davies, managing director at Cri, the company, which still operates a two-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster, is now 90% digital.
He said: "I think we all know where the industry is going and thanks to our investments in digital, we have been able to pick up some sizeable new contracts in the past 12 months.
"We looked at a large number of digital machines right up to the HP Indigo presses but decided that the 700 was right for us while the two-colour can still handle the production of forms and similar print."
The company handles work for clients such as JCB and Boots as well as a range of other commercial customers. Its new contract will involve the 20 year-old business supplying the brewer with business cards, flyers internal print as well as marketing pieces.
"It's a contract that will see us fulfil an increasing amount of digital work in 2011. We run Mimaki machines on the wide-format side so the next step for us will be a flatbed," he added.
The company's Xerox 700 can output at speeds of up to 70ppm in both colour and mono production and on stock weights ranging from 64-300gsm.
