IFS has started to unveil a number of Horizon products that were due to be launched at Drupa.

The first product to be unveiled is the Horizon HT-300 three-sided trimmer, which replaces the HT-30C and offers a top speed of 300 cycles/hr compared with the 200c/hr of its predecessor.

“The quality results and production benefits delivered by the HT-30C are widely recognised and this more highly automated and faster evolution continues Horizon’s commitment to innovation,” said Eric Keane managing director of Horizon’s UK agency IFS.

The 1,100 books/hr Horizon HT-300 offers flap cover, corner and variable trimming and the offline unit can also be configured to run inline with Horizon binding lines.

Other enhancements over the 500 books/hr HT-30C are focused on makeready automation. The trimmer features a 12.1in colour touchscreen and barcode reader for job setup and automated clamp pressure setting and stack calibration, to minimise operator intervention. Other highlights include simplified knife change and adjustment.

It’s also the first Horizon system to be pre-installed with the manufacturer’s cloud-based iCE LiNK workflow, which features a dashboard for real-time production analysis, remote update capabilities and scheduled maintenance resulting in less downtime.

The dashboard can be viewed by smartphone, tablet or desktop and it features an API for MIS integration.

The HT-300 is available immediately.
