New name means new business for EBM Managed Services

Essex Business Machines has rebranded as EBM Managed Services (EBM) as it expands its remit to provide IT as well as print management.

The name change took place this month and is intended to reflect the extra services EBM now offers, including managed print services, IT solutions, and supply, repair and servicing of print devices.

It has taken on three new members of staff this year, taking its team strength to 12, and hopes to hire two more salespeople by the start of 2018. It began working with IT 4 Offices at the beginning of this year to offer new services to customers.

Currently based at 232sqm premises in Witham, Essex, EBM dropped the 'Essex' from its branding as it now has customers across the South East and the wider UK. Managing director Mark Bailey said the company was hoping to secure a foothold in London by establishing a second office in the capital.

“Plans and ambitions to get more people on board are afoot,” said Bailey, who joined his father, founder Michael Bailey, at EBM in 2008.

“I’m excited to appoint new people to our sales team, as well as looking at bringing on new young people as apprentices to train them up – that is the future of this industry.

“This all started because our print customers came to us satisfied with our work, asking us to help with their IT. We could not do that at the time, which is why we started talking to IT 4 Offices, who do fantastic work, about ways to extend our offering.

“We aim to diversify our offering and it is already paying off – we have taken on a few new customers in recent weeks since announcing the name change. But we made sure to write to our existing customers to reassure them we are still a family business and we can continue to provide the same product and the same high quality.”

As part of the rebrand, EBM is also offering customers a guarantee that every service level agreement (SLA) will be met or the customer will get their money back. This includes adhering to on site and remote response times, along with fixed term pricing.

Founded in 2005, the firm earned accreditation to become an official dealer for Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Lexmark, Epson, Utax and Olivetti.
