Loughborough University has invested in a Veloblade Nexus digital die-cutting system from Vivid to help automate its processes and bring production in-house.

Print, post, and logistic services are provided by the university’s Marketing and Advancement team. They provide an in-plant service that supports all teaching, research, and enterprise activity at the university, as well as offering services to commercial customers largely made up of students, community groups, staff, and alumni.

The team have one location on the Loughborough campus but provide a managed MFD service to both the Loughborough and London campuses, offering a wide range of services including cut-sheet print and finishing, large-format print, branded gifts and souvenirs, corporate workwear, and promotional goods.

Helen Clarke, print, post, and logistic services manager, said: “The decision to implement a Vivid system was easy. Ever since incorporating the Veloblade Nexus, we have successfully brought previously outsourced services in-house, resulting in significant cost savings for our university and introducing numerous commercial benefits.

“In these early stages of our Nexus implementation, we are delighted with the seamless installation process carried out by the team, as well as the training they provided.

“Though we acknowledge that there is much to explore and learn, we are grateful for the invaluable direct telephone support we receive from Matthew [Milnes, Vivid service supervisor], which has proven to be immensely beneficial to our team.

“We look forward to further exploring the capabilities and maximising the potential of the Nexus whilst continuing to receive excellent support along the way.”
