In2print merges with Finishing Matters to create 'one-stop-shop' for the South West

In2print has completed a 250,000 digital spend after acquiring local company Finishing Matters to move into the "premier league of digital print".

Following the deal earlier in July, Finishing Matters has rebranded as In2digital&mailing and moved into In2print's new 16,200sqm site in Cheltenham.

In2digital&mailing, which will remain as a separate trading company, has become a subsidiary of 28-staff litho printer In2print.

Alan Townsend, managing director of In2print, said the acquisition of In2digital&mailing was a natural progression thanks to the synergies that existed between both businesses.

He said: "We have been giving them work for a good while now so to bring both companies under one roof and improve our offering to customers made sense."

The newly merged companies, which have a combined headcount of 32, have recently completed a £250,000 spend on digital printing kit to improve their offering.

The investment in a new Xerox DocuColor 5000AP and a mono Xerox Nuvera 144 will help drive the company's expansion into quality digital print and will catalyse a move into variable data work.

Townsend said: "We have the expertise among our team to be the best in the region. We can now combine this comprehensive print consultancy with the very best in print production and high-quality, yet cost-effective, technology."

With the businesses bedded-in, Townsend is also eyeing further acquisitions to diversify In2print's range of services while aiming to grow its £3m turnover to nearly £5m in the next two years.

Matt Magovern, managing director at In2digital&mailing, said the move was "an easy decision" to make and comes little more than a year after the company itself acquired local digital printer PrintWyze.

"We are now one of the very best equipped and largest printers – not only in Cheltenham – but across the entire South West region," he added.

In addition to the recent digital investment, the company has also installed a five-colour B2 Heidelberg Speedmaster to boost capacity on the litho side. It joins two other Heidelberg presses and a fully equipped finishing department.
