Global Graphics has changed its overall group name to Hybrid Software to better reflect the nature of its business.

Further to an announcement about the proposed change by the company last month, the special resolution proposed was unanimously passed without amendment at a general meeting held last Wednesday (13 October). The change of name has been accepted by the Registrar of Companies for England and Wales.

The Cambridge-headquartered organisation remains a UK company with its shares listed on Euronext Brussels. Today (20 October), the company celebrated its change of name and corporate identity by ringing the bell to open trading at Euronext. The company’s stock symbol has been changed from GLOG to HYSG. There will be no other changes to the listed shares.

Chairman Guido Van der Schueren said: “I have felt for some time that the name Global Graphics no longer described the group’s mission, especially to the investor community. With the acquisition of Hybrid Software earlier this year it was clear that we needed a name which reflects the real nature of our business: enterprise software combined with printhead electronics for digital printing applications. I’m very pleased with the strong support we have received for this rebranding.”

Speaking at the bell ceremony today CEO Mike Rottenborn added: “Our customers have long viewed Global Graphics as a collection of great companies: Global Graphics Software, Hybrid Software, Meteor Inkjet, and Xitron. But as an integrated group, we offer technology and products that go beyond what’s available from any individual company.

“It’s important that we communicate the proper brand message at the group level to our customers and investors. Rebranding as Hybrid Software Group brings this group strategy into focus and lays the foundations for continued growth of the company.”

The individual branding of the group's four operating companies is unchanged.

The business reported a substantial revenue increase in its financial results for the first half of 2020, due in large part to its Hybrid Software acquisition and growth in its Printhead Solutions segment.
