CVG: new pricing is effective from July

Crown Van Gelder has announced a double-digit price increase that will be effective across its entire range of papers.

Earlier this year the Netherlands-headquartered papermaker implemented a price increase of 6%-8% on its high-speed inkjet, graphical, label and packaging grades, effective from the beginning of April.

The group has now announced plans to raise prices by 12%-15% across all paper grades, with the new pricing applicable on deliveries from 1 July onwards.

In a statement, the firm said: “Continued very strong rising costs for raw materials, in combination with higher freight rates fuelled by global logistic circumstances cause the necessary increase.”

CVG said its sales team would be in contact with customers about the new pricing structure, “taking into consideration the existing customer specific agreements”.

The firm’s product portfolio of high-speed inkjet papers is targeted at a range of markets including transactional print, publishing and labels.

Its Crown Native product, which includes pulp made using residues from sugar beet cultivation, became commercially available in February.
