Nonetheless all the judges agreed that Pureprint was a worthy winner, impressing with "thoughtful post-press work" and "attention to detail on binding".
Achieving several full-mark scores in both this and the Fine Art Printer of the Year category, Pureprint's Henry Moore Late Large Forms submission was widely praised.
So too was Matrix, a book on historic British hand and desk seals, which was printed using a combination of digital and litho, and with cases made from black buckram cloth, mounted over 2mm greyboard, silver-foiled on the cover and spine.

Hot on Pureprint’s heels was CPI Group’s Fulmar, with judges commenting that the company’s entry was "really good" and that both it and Pureprint "stood out for consistency of products, innovative substrates, better emphasis on finishing and neater binding". Entries included a British Airways Prime Book and a case-bound brochure for German shopping complex Centro.

Park Communications was commended this year for Candy & Candy: The Art of Design, a Walpole British Luxury showcase book and a book celebrating 200 years of Warner/Chappell music publishing. Scoring particularly consistently was the Walpole job, which, most importantly, also garnered much praise from the client, who commented "great job… 10 out of 10!"
