Hybrid Services targets wide-format market with ink launch

Mimaki distributor Hybrid Services has launched a clear ink that will allow wide-format printers to produce effects similar to a litho spot varnish.

The product has been has been added to Mimaki's LH-100 scratch- and chemical-resistant UV ink for the UJF-3042, JFX and JFXplus series of UV LED curable inkjet printers.

Available in March 2011, the company said the clear ink enabled glossy and matt finish effects, which adds creativity and value to the final product.

National sales manager for Hybrid, John de la Roche, said: "Mimaki remains at the forefront of digital ink developments and the new clear LED UV ink gives new and existing customers great creative opportunity to fully exploit the high print quality and commercial potential of Mimaki's latest generation flatbed UV printers."

The clear ink can be used by companies involved in packaging proofing, as it can be used for high-end point-of-sale applications, labels and textured finishes.

Mimaki's clear UV ink can be retrofitted to its JFX and JFXplus range of flatbed machines and only requires a minor hardware upgrade when used with the firm's UJF-3042 desktop A3 flatbed.

Hybrid Services is the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Mimaki products, which includes UV curing, textile and aqueous inkjet printers, flatbed and pinch roll cutting plotters, software solutions and consumables.
