Greenhouse Graphics named Business of the Year at BAPC Awards

Greenhouse Graphics has been crowned the BAPC Business of the Year at the trade body's annual conference held last weekend.

Close to 150 delegates attended the two-day event, which included presentations from business expert Adrian Webster, London School of Economics economist Tony Travers and Olympic gold medal winner rowing cox, Garry Herbert MBE.

The conference was rounded off on Saturday evening (8 November) by the 2008 BAPC Awards, where Greenhouse Graphics picked up the top prize.

"It's encouraging to see that even in these tough times the industry still has positive stories to tell, such as Greenhouse, and as well as enjoying the event it appears that the printers also found the conference highly informative," said BAPC chairman Sidney Bobb.

This BAPC honour is the latest in a long line of achievements for Basingstoke-based Greenhouse, which focuses on sustainable commercial print.

"The award reflects the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of all the staff at Greenhouse Graphics to ensure we provide our customers with high-quality products and services," said managing and technical director Ian Crossley.

In the past, the company, which is headed up by Crossley and creative director Timi van Houten, has won two Hampshire and IOW Sustainable Business Awards (2005 and 2007), and is a three times winner of The Carbon Trust Award for the Environment in Basingstoke (2004, 2005 and 2007).

The firm has also been shortlisted three times in the South East England Sustainable Business Awards and was a finalist in 2007 PrintWeek Awards Enviromental Company of the Year category.

The other BAPC winners on the night were: Park Lane Press (BAPC Environmental printer of the Year); Graphic Arts Equipment (BAPC Supplier of the Year); the Canon imagePress 7000 (BAPC Product of the Year); and Canon UK general manager of professional print Wayne Barlow was given honorary life membership of the BAPC for his services to the print industry.
