BAPC award winners revealed at annual conference

Kall Kwik Bury St Edmunds secured the top honour at the BAPC Awards over the weekend after being crowned the trade association's Business of the Year.

Stewart Green, managing director of the Suffolk-based franchise said the award was a welcome surprise.

"We like to think that we all do a good job, but it’s nice when that is recognised by someone from outside of the business. This award is for the whole team at Bury St Edmunds, because it’s down to their hard work and enthusiasm," said Green.

The award completes a busy year for the seven staff firm, which moved from a high-street location to new 3,000sqm premises on a nearby industrial estate in April.

Green took on the business nine years ago, originally coming from a marketing background. Under his tenure he said that the business had evolved to encompass more than just print, offering consultative services such as design, marketing and online.

Other winners on the night were Park Lane Press, which was named Environmental Printer of the Year, Ricoh, which was voted Supplier of the year, and the Canon imagePress 7010VP which was hailed Product of the Year.

The Awards followed the BAPC annual conference, where around 100 delegates heard presenters including Infotrends senior consultant Barney Cox, The Bardon Group managing director Nigel Toplis and The Print Coach, Nick Devine, talk about the opportunities in print. The event was chaired by motivational speaker Sean Brickell.

"In challenging times it’s all too easy to focus on the negatives, but we wanted the conference to highlight on the positives and the opportunities that exist in print, and judging from the feedback it certainly delivered," said BAPC chairman Sidney Bobb.
