Absolute trust is key

SKORI Fuji demonstrates the power of partnerships

Bohuslav Skořepa, owner of SKORI Fuji, presenting the new Fujifilm printers

SKORI Fuji founder Bohuslav Skořepa shares the story of his award-winning business and why he believes the new Fujifilm five-colour presses will become the benchmark for digital production printers.

When speaking to peers across world about my business, I may occasionally find myself explaining where the Czech Republic is, but always find myself explaining what the company does and where the name comes from (a nickname in my youth).

However, one thing I never have to explain is the logic of Fujifilm entering the digital press market in Europe three years ago.

As a Fujifilm reseller, I am very happy to have been there from the very beginning.

Thanks to our experience, the great team at SKORI Fuji in combination with Fujifilm's unique printing presses, we’ve seen a huge take-up in Fujifilm technology in the Czech Republic.

Our market may be relatively small, but it punches well above its weight with companies that leverage their unique know how. Many of our proud nation’s print businesses boast what can only be described as ‘extreme automation’, utilising technology to drive production efficiencies that are unprecedented with an emphasis on quality.

It’s our customers’ constant drive to be better that, I’m sure, helped us be named Fujifilm's European Partner of the Year 2024. A great honour for us. It also illustrates how a small, privately owned company that has its finger on the pulse of the market and builds true partnerships with customers and suppliers alike, often performs much better than large multinational corporations can imagine.

My own experience, combined with that of my customers and partners, tells me that being more efficient than a large corporation is not always that hard. The bigger challenge is how do I convince a new supplier or corporation to work with me? It is all about absolute trust.

Of course, I mean mutual trust – something that my and Fujifilm teams share.

An example of that in action was the recent visit by the Fujifilm R&D team from Tokyo to the Czech Republic, which illustrated the close cooperation SKORI Fuji has established. Over the course of three-days, Fujifilm’s technology experts, us, and our clients discussed a whole range of issues and subjects. The engagement was fantastic and I’ve no doubt that everyone involved took away something that would benefit their business.

Last month, we also had the unique chance to introduce the brand new Revoria Press SC285S and EC2100S printers ahead of their launch in Central Europe.

As is our custom, we tested both machines in detail and produced real print jobs for our customers, without any restrictions.

During the presentation we also printed on non-standard, structured media and basically ignored the usual playbook of keeping the demonstrations safe and simple, we wanted to show the machine’s true capabilities which as we all know, often means pushing beyond the published limitations. That’s how we do things at SKORI, we like to stretch the boundaries – exactly like our customers do.

For example, we have demonstrated to our customers how effective the Static Eliminator can be when printing on synthetic media, or how the new Smart Monitoring Gate, which can be included in the configuration of both machines, can contribute to maintaining print quality. We were very pleasantly surprised by the new machines, and I personally think they will become the benchmark among digital printers in the years to come. Just like their predecessor.

Probably the most interesting thing for our customers was the live demonstration of our remote service. I don’t mean we were playing with the latest VR glasses, I mean we showed that customers have been using remote service routinely for over a year now. We have shown them how we are able to remotely detect and even fix a machine fault, thus minimising downtime for the customer and increasing their profits.

In short, SKORI Fuji simply shows the way. We’re proud to demonstrate what a sales and service partnership can and should look like in the 21st century, thanks, in no small part, to our close collaboration with the market leader in digital printing technology – Fujifilm!
