We’d been looking for a heavy-duty machine that could crease and fold in one pass at high speed. If it is a straightforward folding job, we can run it at 8,000 sheets per hour, but if it has a number of creases, and we are running it on heavyweight board, then we will probably slow it down. Two-thirds of our jobs are folded and a third are creased and folded,
although the latter is a growing sector for us now that we have the confidence to pitch competitively for this type of work. We also bring folders to be scored and folded from our other litho company, Gomer Press in Llandysul, as it is more efficient to finish them on the Pit Stop Mini Speed.
