Mimaki sets Autumn launch for new JFX500-2131 flatbed

Mimaki has pinpointed an autumn launch for its new UV flatbed printer, the JFX500-2131, which is claimed to couple innovation with "substantial productivity".

Unveiled as a prototype at Drupa earlier this year, the 2,100mm x 3,100mm machine comes equipped with six new Gen 5 printheads arranged in a three staggered configuration.

It can print at a speed of up to 60sqm/hr in four-colour operation, or at a rate of 45sqm/hr when using white ink.

When printing at maximum speed, the new machine is nearly three times more productive than existing models such as the Mimaki JFX-1615plus.

Capable of printing at resolutions up to 600dpi, the new printer can output using a range of inks including the manufacturer's latest LUS-150 ink set.

The newly-formulated CMYK LED curing ink is claimed to offer high-speed curing properties and increased elasticity on a diverse range of substrates without cracking.

Hybrid Services will distribute the machine in the UK and Ireland when it is launched later this year.

Industrial products sales manager Mike Lewis said: "The JFX500-2131 is loaded with powerful new features.

"It’s a highly innovative printer that delivers substantial productivity, typically high Mimaki print quality and some important environmental advantages too."
