Executives from Kern and its new partner Vortex Systems met up in Nottingham at the end of last year to discuss their plans for future sales and support in the UK.

Vortex was appointed as Kern’s technology partner in September 2023, after Kern decided to close its UK subsidiary.

Kern Group CEO Stefan Wüthrich attended the meeting, along with Daniel Wenger who is head of the Swiss manufacturer’s KernMail business unit.

Kern said the two firms had “big plans” for 2024, including a sales drive on Kern’s high-performance inserting systems.

Wüthrich said: “We have been present in England for many decades, so I am pleased that this will also be the case in the future through our cooperation with Vortex. We look forward to the coming decades.”

The Kern team also praised Vortex’s technical know-how and industry knowledge.

“Thanks to the engagement of sales and technical support staff with many years of experience with Kern products, this will ensure the transition of services will be managed in a professional and efficient manner,” the manufacturer stated.

Vortex Systems serves a variety of industries including print and direct mail, plastic cards, manufacturing and packaging.

Its expertise includes friction feeders for products that are difficult to feed, high-speed attaching and tipping on, as well as coding and addressing.
