Friedheim expands portfolio with new supplier agreement

Post-press equipment specialist Friedheim International has added the Omega range of folder-gluers to its portfolio after signing Duran Machinery to its growing list of suppliers.

Duran Machinery, a 60-year old Turkish company, designs and manufactures the Omega range of folder-gluers and related ancillary equipment for carton and corrugated packaging producers.

The company said the Omega range, which includes six standard models, is designed to meet short-, medium- and high-run production needs across the commercial and digital print sectors as well as converting and packaging.

Friedheim converting and binding division sales manager Roger Cartwright said: "Friedheim has taken on the Duran agency because it is felt that the company has a broader and better range of equipment with more models and sizes. Duran is an outward- and forward-looking company, growing strongly and increasing its market share.

"It is proactively interested in producing solutions for customers and is also very happy to talk about special applications and produce solutions for them."

He added that Friedheim is intending to continue to grow in the converting and corrugated sectors.

Managing director Mark Bristow said: “The addition of Duran Machinery and its excellent, diverse range of Omega folder-gluers is a clear indication of how seriously Friedheim views its commitment to both the carton and corrugated converting industries."

Duran Machinery’s former UK agent John Twigg said he was working with Friedheim to ensure a smooth transition of services for customers. Twigg has represented Duran in the UK and Irish markets for several years.

He added: “I am extremely pleased to be placing Duran into the experienced hands of Friedheim International, a company that I have known for many years and which comes with an excellent reputation I am sure that the combination of the two will enjoy a very successful partnership in the coming years.”
