Pre-media

Ergosoft     5, P44
Ergosoft, the Swiss developer of RIP software for textiles printers, will unveil the latest version of its RIP package. Version 15 includes a number of updates and new features, including a new Gamut Mapping capability for ColorGPS Profiler, which helps printers to achieve “smoother gradients and more colourful results”, according to the developer. Also included are improved user level rights that introduce password protection on certain features, and ‘printer pools’, which simplify job sharing for users with several machines of the same type. Ergosoft said the new version offers a 40% increase in speed when using stochastic screening over version 14. On the back of user demand the company has introduced Nesting, now integrated into the JobComposer and the HotFolder application, to benefit from the automated arrangement of multiple images per job.

Onyx Graphics     1, J20
Onyx Graphics is showing for the first time in Europe its new print workflow suite, Onyx Thrive, designed to maximise throughput. Onyx said that Thrive provides “a full-featured, scalable workflow based on the Adobe PDF Print Engine and optimised for superior performance for all sizes of print service providers”. The package uses automation in the form of ‘Quick Sets’ to eliminate manual steps in the production process, according to Onyx. Also included is Thrive Production Manager, which provides a real-time dashboard of production information, accessible via a web browser.

Post-press
Blackman & White    7, S15
As well as demonstrating a range of its large-format cutters from its portfolio of MasterCut, Genesis, Orion and VersaTech machines, manufacturer Blackman & White (B&W) will be offering 10% discount vouchers for its Cutting Resources online store to the first 50 visitors on its stand every day at Fespa Digital. It will also be entering the details of anyone registering their interest in a B&W cutting system in a prize draw to win a Parrot Quatrocopter AR Drone 2.0 Elite Edition worth £250.

Bullmer     5, K71
German digital cutting specialist Bullmer will be exhibiting a new materials handling device for rolls of textiles. The Transroll-P is an automatic roll handling system that can be used in conjunction with the manufacturer’s cutting and unwinding machinery. Bullmer said the Transroll-P offers a cost-effective way to handle frequent roll changes. The system is equipped with a barcode reader to automatically identify the roll to be processed and move it into position and to enable serial processing of different products. Rolls can be changed in around 15 seconds.
