Specialty paper manufacturer Felix Schoeller has unveiled three new transfer films to be demonstrated at Fespa’s Global Print Expo.

Developed in conjunction with polymer film manufacturer Bleher Folientechnik, the films – two for direct-to-fabric (DTF) application, and the other for screen printing with plastisol and water-based inks – follow on the heels of Schoeller’s entrance into the transfer film market at Fespa 2022.

The two transfer films, Transfer DTF Matt 110 and 135, with strengths of 80µm and 105µm respectively, will be available in 300 or 600mm widths.

The screen-printing film, Transfer Film Matt 150, with a strength of 124µm, will be available in 350x500mm, 500x700mm, 700x1,000mm sheets and in jumbo rolls.

“Our new DTF solution offers our customers real added value,” said Dieter Kaumkötter, the company’s product manager.

“We guarantee our customers extremely stable production processes in this product area as well. That's an advantage that not only saves money, but above all time."

The company said the DTF film would be able to handle both high densities of inks and a wide colour gamut.

Kaumkötter added: “This means that even intense blacks and vibrant colours can be achieved for convincing transfers on textiles.”

The new films will be exhibited alongside the brand’s other products at its stand at Fespa, where it will also host a discussion forum at 5pm on 24 May, when it has invited attendants to drop by the stand to exchange ideas.

Felix Schoeller will exhibit at booth D12, Hall B1 at the show.
