DropJet launches bespoke label press

Turkish media and software developer DropJet (6-Q100) has brought a new continuous inkjet label press to Fespa, which can print up to 76m/min at widths of from 250mm to 350mm.

The £450,000-£480,000 DJPress prints CMYK plus white for printing onto films. It features 600dpi, variable droplet size Kyocera heads.

“This printer is equal to other high speed printers on the market such as Screen and Domino. We use Kyocera heads and UV curing system. We are small but serious,” said executive director Hasan Özkan.

The machines are bespoke built in Turkey with a four-month lead time.

The press first cures white ink separately through the whole thickness of the paper and afterwards prints with CMYK, something executive director Özkan said was unique.
