Bobst's consulting service promises "hands-on, innovative" consulting

Label and packaging finishing equipment manufacturer Bobst has launched a new consulting service, Bobst Application Management, to help advise packaging converters looking to enter new markets.

Application Management will be a “hands-on, innovative consulting service,” according to Bobst, which can be scaled to adapt to customers’ needs and give guidance on new technologies, raw materials, sustainability, and processes along the packaging value chain.

“With over 130 years of leadership in the packaging industry, Bobst is much more than a manufacturer of machines, we are industry experts and thought leaders and can offer significant insight and counsel to our customers,” said Xavier Bonamour, Bobst application manager.

“We fully understand the pain points and barriers faced by our customers and, with an industry-wide view, we can provide exactly the right solutions and advice for each specific scenario.”

Available now to advise on flexible packaging, the service will be extended to further markets in the future, Bobst said.

The manufacturer cited typical scenarios where customers might use the service that included clients facing major decisions – such as entering a new market or industry – or conducting a review of a certain element of their business, such as sustainability, or general guidance on preparing for the future.

Bonamour added: “At Bobst, our business has always started with listening to our customers and truly understanding their challenges so that we can help overcome them, so Application Management is a natural extension of what we do best.

“Now, we provide this service in a very tailored and bespoke way, which can really elevate a brand owner’s or converter’s business to the next level.”

Bobst also revealed that it has extended its partnership with flexo platemaking equipment firm Miraclon, installing a Miraclon Flexcel NX and Flexcel NX Ultra Processing Solution platemaker at its new Competence Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The centre, which opens in mid-April, will be used by Miraclon for on-press demonstrations and print trials for American customers.

Emma Weston, Miraclon’s chief marketing officer, said: “We’ve been collaborating closely with Bobst since our partnership in Europe started more than eight years ago.

“Visitors to the Bobst Bielefeld Demo Center in Germany have been able to see Flexcel NX plates in action after we installed a Flexcel NX System in 2019.

“Our strategic relationship underscores both companies’ commitment to enabling our customers and partners to achieve their efficiency, sustainability and quality goals with some of the best technology and expertise in the industry.”
