Azonprinter reveals A1 machine for thick materials

Azonprinter has launched what it calls an “evolutionary” new-generation A1 UV LED machine that can print on materials up to 100mm thick.

The Mason has a maximum printing area of 590x700mm with specially designed bulk ink tanks with ink monitoring sensor to increase printing capacity.

Azonprinter said that each of the six bulk ink tanks holds 500ml and is easy to handle, and that out-of-box installation provides safety and the ability to refill tanks from ink bottles to reduce running costs.

The machine, which costs around £22,500 and runs at 1.5sqm per hour, is available through UK distributor Eurographique.

Azonprinter sales and marketing manager Žaklina Begic said: “Our target audiences are promotional and sign markets, graphic and other industries.

“This machine is a good addition to existing technologies and could be interesting to owners of gift shops, artists and business people who want to personalise their services and products.”

The Mason features single-pass printing in CMYK-plus-white, and new Azon RIP software offers a reproduction quality of 1,440dpi for fine image details.

The machine can print on substrates and 3D objects in wood, canvas, ceramic and plastics, and Begic said unlike the previous generation of printers with belt systems, this machine has a servo motor to improve accuracy with the forward-backward movement of the printed object.

UV LED pigmented inks in gloss and multi-coat effects, meanwhile, gives up to five years' durability, she added.

“This new machine with bulk ink tank option meets high customer demands and masters the technology of both UV LED ink and UV LED printing.”

She pointed to the Azon Conti system with specially designed bulk ink tanks with an ink monitoring sensor for increasing printing capacity of machine as stand-out features,

“Ink tanks can be filled from the bottles so the running costs for the machine are lower. This feature saves time and effort in changing the cartridges.

“The other stand-out feature is the Azon RIP new software which can print up to six layers in inline mode depending on resolution.

“It can fade and change the number of nozzles used and create emboss or raised print to 2mm. The software the decreases need for Illustrator, CorelDraw and Photoshop and has approved Braille script,” Begic added.

Azonprinter, based in Croatia, makes printers for the sign and printing industry with an onus on the environment and eco-friendly green technology. It has more than 80 distributors worldwide.

A month ago Azonprinter launched a new rotary adaptor that enabled direct 360° printing on large bottles, glasses and candles.

The Azon Rotax plugged on to the manufacturer's Razor printer for use on cylindrical objects with diameters that range from 41mm to 127mm and on objects up to 279mm high.
