Xerox launches digital colour press

Xerox has unveiled its latest digital colour press, the 700, which can output at speeds of up to 70ppm in both colour and mono production.

The Xerox 700 is claimed to be suitable for the production of photo books, brochures, direct mail pieces, catalogues, calendars and postcards, and can print on coated and uncoated paper with a maximum sheet size of SRA3, and on stock weights ranging between 64gsm and 300gsm.

The 700, which uses Xerox's proprietary low-melt Emulsion Aggregation (EA) Toner, also offers automatic two-sided printing up to 220gsm on both coated and uncoated stocks.

It has optional extras, including the Integrated Fiery Colour Server, CX Print Server powered by Creo or the Xerox FreeFlow Print Server.

In addition to a number of finishing options, including a high-capacity stacker, Xerox 700 users have access to the Xerox ProfitAccelerator Digital Business Resources portfolio.

The software suite consists of more than 75 tools and programmes designed to help print providers develop and grow their digital businesses.

It will be available for installation from June. Pricing was unavailable at time of writing.
