X-rite to focus on colour value

X-rite will launch seven products at Drupa as part of its mission to make accurate colour quicker, cheaper and simpler to achieve.

Products cover hardware and software for monitor, proofer and press profiling and quality assurance for all stages of the workflow from design, through pre-press to the press, both digital and conventional.

Some of the products were talking about here are just the start of where were headed, said vice president of marketing and product development Jim Weaver. Our business has traditionally been about instruments; that is changing, software is important. Accurate colour is a given, but it has to be faster cheaper and simpler.

New products include the X-Y AutoScan, a spectrophotometer that makes proofer profile creation and calibration a one-touch operation. It also slashes the time taken to measure patches and create a profile from 20 to three minutes.

It will also unveil a pressroom spectrophotometer that will simplify and cut the cost of measuring control strips, as well as allowing the instant creation of an ICC profile for that press, ink and paper combination.

At the heart of its products will be the Monaco QC Server Suite which will allow users to verify the accuracy of proofs, both hard and soft, local and remote and press sheets against defined targets and tolerances.
