The 400,000-run monthly will move to Wyndeham Heron from St Ives Caerphilly in March, said IPC Southbank production director Debbie Read.
Wed been very happy with Caerphilly but we had too many titles wanting the same press slot, so there was a scheduling issue there, said Read.
IPC had had a number of meetings with Wyndehams new managing director Paul Utting [formerly of St Ives] before awarding the contract, and had been impressed with the strategic direction the group was taking, Read added.
Were very confident about their future theyre going to be a very big player in this market. Theyve really put themselves back on the map, she said.
The publication, which typically involves seven 32pp sections as well as a regional London section, is the only IPC title handled by Wyndeham at the moment.
We wanted to test the relationship with a big contract, said Read.
Ideal Home will be produced on one of Herons three eight-unit MAN Roland Rotomans with the covers printed at Wyndeham Impact. Repro remains with Graphic Facilities.
The plant has also won the contract to produce Grand Designs magazine, a spin-off from the Channel 4 series of the same name.
Published by Media 10 with repro by Studio 10, Grand Designs will have an initial run of 100,000 but publisher Richard Morey said that could increase significantly by the summer. The first 164pp issue went on sale this week.
