UK's first Ferag EasySert to be installed at NWN Media plant

Newspaper publisher NWN Media is the first UK company to order the Ferag EasySert System, which was launched at Ifra Expo last year, in order to increase its contract work, offering increased inserting as an option for customers.

The inserting machine, supplied by UK distributor WRH Marketing, will be installed at NWN's Deeside facility later this summer and will run alongside a 128-page full-colour KBA Commander press and will be integrated with a RollStream.

Ferag's EasySert system includes JetFeeder hoppers and a UTR conveyor system.  It can run at speeds of up to 25,000 copies an hour from 300x210 mm to 310x450 mm.

Operations director Huw Jones said: "Having examined the potential of the new Ferag EasySert system we believe that it will provide us with the opportunity to win new business on the strength of being able to offer comprehensive high-speed inserting facilities.

"We will be able to run the press at maximum production speed. We can make full use of our existing publishing line, which consists of labelling, stacking, polywrapping, underwrapping and cross-strap facilities, plus fully programmed production control."

NWN Media publishes 12 of its own daily, weekly and monthly paid-for and free publications including the County Times, the Advertiser and the Evening Leader. It also handles contract work.
