TPI agrees strategic partnership with IO Integration

Turning Point Integration (TPI) has signed a strategic partnership with US-based IO Integration (IOI) and a distribution deal with Canada-based Unlimi-Tech Software, as well as announcing its first new products.

TPI, which was founded last year by the former directors and employees of the ill-fated Turning Point Technologies, has spent the last nine months remodelling its business based on feedback from its customer base.

Chairman Derek Bagnall said that the company was now in a much stronger position than it had been historically.

He said: "The word I've been looking for was consistency. The last six months has seen steady improvement and we've now got a pretty good client base that is very happy with the standard we've achieved."

TPI chief executive Steve Emerson added: "Whereas we used to sell a lot of hardware, we don't do that anymore. It's about the software, the associated integration services and then our own offerings, which often are Software as a Service (SaaS) based."

As part of the company's evolution, it has employed a team of three full-time programmers and has recently launched its first two in-house developed plug-ins for Xinet's WebNative suite: Annotate, an online content approval tool; and a Flatplan module.

TPI's strategic partnership deal with IOI, which was signed on Monday, includes intellectual property sharing, as well as a combined development and support offering.

Emerson said: "IOI has developed a number of plug-ins around the Xinet WebNative suite, so that's where we have common ground in that we're both Dalim and Xinet distributors.

"And, as we've also developed different plug-ins for those applications, we're doing an intellectual property share.

"They've got an authentication and user management module for WebNative – the IO Authentication module – that we will be distributing in the UK. The more people you get on your DAM system, the heavier the burden becomes on managing all the users and IO Authentication makes that a lot easier and more intelligent."

Meanwhile, the company has also announced a distribution deal with Canada-based Unlimi-Tech Software, to bring its file transfer tool File Catalyst to the UK.
