A group of former Turning Point Technologies (TPT) directors and employees have launched a new company, Turning Point Integration, after securing distribution deals for Dalim Software and Xinet.

Turning Point Integration's predecessor, TPT, merged with Newcastle Computer Services (NCS) in February 2007 to create a £20m turnover group – Turning Point Innovation.

However, this new business got into difficulty after its bank tightened its credit line, ultimately forcing it to call in the administrators in May 2008.

Former managing director, Steve Emerson, who has founded the new company – Turning Point Integration - said that, although TPT was always profitable, the cessation of NCS business activities had forced it into administration.

He said: "A lot of what NCS did was in decline when they got involved with us. CTP had become a manufacturer's game as opposed to a reseller's game, for example, and the bank tightened the credit line, which was what ultimately took it under."

In the short term, the new business will focus on ensuring that maintenance clients from its predecessor are supported. It is also planning to announce a range of new support and application packages.

Emerson said: "It is our intention to regain the position of integrator of choice for organisations involved in all areas of the graphic arts supply chain. While we will also be targeting new sales opportunities, our main focus is to satisfy the existing user base."

The new company, which has already received strong support from BBC Worldwide, Fresh Media Group, SP Group and Wyndeham, will initially focus on offering sales, support and professional services for Dalim and Xinet's range of workflow and asset management applications.
