WAM!NET's European managing director David Townend has resigned.
Townend was one of the original founders of 4Sight, which was acquired by WAM!NET back in 1998 to give it a launchpad into the European market.
He has been replaced by Denice Gibson, who was previously senior vice president, global operations. His resignation was originally tendered back in January. His decision to leave the firm has only just been made public following his departure.
Townend was unavailable for comment, but a spokeswoman for the firm said that he wanted to spend more time with his family and to pursue a more entrepreneurial path. He will continue to work for the company as a consultant.
His departure comes during the firm's quiet period prior to a planned IPO, although the company was keen to point out that this was not behind his departure.
