Packaging industry veteran John Durston, formerly chief executive at Sidlaw Group until its acquisition last year by Danisco, has now secured the top job at Daniscos flexible packaging division.
The appointment to chief executive of Danisco Flexible caps off more than 30 years in the packaging sector for Durston.
Durston is no stranger to the Danisco - as well as his experience of the Sidlaw operations, he has been advising the Danisco board on globalisation issues in a non-executive capacity since April 1999.
He said: "A great deal of effort has gone into rebuilding the business during the past year and it is gratifying to see the results starting to come through. We must consolidate this success and continue to build the platform to take Danisco Flexible forward."
Durston replaces Henrik Jansdorf who becomes executive vice president of Danisco Cultor, the ingredients division.
