Danisco Flexible is to merge two of its operations in Scotland. The amalgamation will see Danisco Flexible FlexCo in Livingston and Flexible Deeside in Stonehaven move from their present sites to a new 27,500sq ft premises in Livingston. The new business, Flexible Oakbank, is expected to be operational by November.
Vice president for Danisco Flexible, north western Europe, speciality products, Nick Sherwen, said that the move was prompted by a need to streamline and expand operations. "Its becoming harder and harder to remain competitive operating out of two units," he said.
"Ideally we would like everyone to move with us - this move isnt about cost savings and cutting jobs," explained Sherwen. Any staff not willing to make the move will be offered redundancy, he added.
