The Digital Press spends 50,000 on finishing

Trade digital printer The Digital Press (TDP) has upgraded its finishing department with a 50,000 investment.

The Bournemouth-based company installed a DigiFold 5000P and DocuMaster from Morgana in late 2009, after it found that its finishing department, which included an original DigiFold, could not keep up with its reel-fed Xeikon 5000.

Managing director Peter Randall said: "There was a big logjam after the press had finished and improving the department was the next step. Jobs that were taking us around two-and-a-half days before are now taking three-quarters of a day."

The company specialises in six-page A4 work, as well as offering A2 posters to local companies. According to TDP, it handles a lot of the A2 work that local digital printers don't have the capacity to handle.

TDP, which currently employs four staff, started out as a repro house in 1991, before moving into digital print over the past 20 years.
