Technique Print Group upgrades to Heidelberg Suprasetter A75

Banbury-based commercial printer Technique Print Group has upgraded its CTP system by moving from a Screen PlateRite to a Heidelberg Suprasetter A75.

“We felt that it was time to upgrade and we wanted something that would be more reliable and meet our outputs. We considered another Screen but Heidelberg came in with a very attractive deal for us and it was installed in February,” said Technique managing director Karl Smith.

“It's primarily an investment for us to maintain our position but it is slightly better quality than the old equipment we had.”

The firm has also increased its pressroom capacity by moving to double-day shifts.

Technique bought the Suprasetter A75 for £80,000 in a deal which also includes the Prinect Color Toolbox.

This package will strengthen the firm’s ability to run to the Fogra 39 standard. The closed-loop connectivity linking to the press, and specifically to the Axis Control spectral measurement device, will assure colour accuracy.

“We can make sure our print is a proper standard and we can calibrate the press as we need to, to make sure we have complete control of the colour ourselves,” said Smith.

The company, which has 20 staff and a turnover of £2m, produces colour brochures, business stationery, catalogues, leaflets and posters. Its customers include agencies, publishers and marketing departments based primarily within a 50-mile radius.
