Taopix reveals boost in photobook orders

Photobook software could finally "come of age" in 2010, according to software developer Taopix, which has signed up more than 20 new users in the past few weeks.

Taopix chief executive James Gray said that the orders, which have come from digital printers and photo labs, signalled the beginning of "a great year for the photobook industry".

He added: "Up until December 2009, Taopix had slightly fewer than 100 photobook installations worldwide. So, to then secure a fifth of that number in just over four weeks is quite a milestone for the company.

"It demonstrates that photobooks are really coming of age – the industry is now acutely aware of the huge impact great photobook software can have on a company's product portfolio and profit margins."

According to Taopix, the rush of new orders has come from clients across the globe, following an international sales push in 2009.
