Stora Enso is continuing talks with several interested parties over the sale of assets from its Newton Kyme mill in North Yorkshire (PrintWeek, 19 January).
A spokesman for the company said one sheeting machine had been sold internally, and there had also been some interest in the off-machine coater.
The main area of interest appears to be the Far East, particularly India, he added.
The 22-acre mill site will also be put up for sale, but the spokesman said the company was hopeful it would be bought by an industrial party which could provide re-employment in the area.
Stora Enso closed the Tadcaster plant in October last year with the loss of 170 jobs, taking out 40,000 tonnes of folding boxboard capacity.
