SPS Rehmus undergoes management buy-out

Insolvent European screen press manufacturer SPS Rehmus has undergone a management buy-out with the creation of new company, SPS TechnoScreen.

The business appointed temporary insolvency administrator Jens Hamdorf, of Treugarant AG, when it fell into the German form of administration in April.

Kirsten Brast, managing director of SPS TechnoScreen, said the transition would take place without interruption to the company's existing customer base.

As part of the move, the manufacturer is to shut its Seevetal assembly site and transfer "up-to-date" facilities to central Europe.

According to the company, a "good number" of the manufacturer's 50 staff have been brought over to the new business.

Sales and support services for SPS TechnoScreen are carried out in the UK and Ireland by Huddersfield-based Thieme KPX.
