Spandex to sell Durst's Omega 1 UV machine into UK

Durst has announced Spandex as the exclusive UK distributor for its new entry-level Omega 1 wide-format UV machine.

The Omega 1 boasts the same build quality and precision as the more expensive Rho stablemates, but with a lower production speed and price.

Durst is hoping that Spandex's broad access to printers in the UK sign making and digital production markets will boost its uptake.

Spandex hardware director Leon Watson said: "Omega 1 complements our range by offering customers the opportunity to enter the UV print market and achieve fine art printing quality at industrial production speeds."

The Omega 1 offers 1728dpi resolution printing, using greyscale printing with optional process colours of orange and violet, grey, light magenta and light cyan and can print images up to 160cm wide at speeds up to 35sqm per hour.
