Tendring Pacific has launched a trouble shooting and arbitration service to help solve disputes between printers and press manufacturers for offset sheet-fed presses.
It was developed by IGT Reprotest and FOGRA, the German printing research centre, has been in use for over ten years by Dutch and Belgium printers but is now rolled out by Tendring Pacific.
The service, supported by Heidelberg and MAN Roland, uses charts to identify 40 of the most common printing faults when used with standard paper, inks, blankets and plates.
Tendring managing director Anton Hutson said the service also gave printers confidence when buying second hand presses. "It's like an MOT. If it's a private sale you dont know what youre getting," he said.
