Service Graphics buys Colourlink

Service Graphics has bought large-format digital printing firm Colourlink London and signed a three-year contract with Ford worth 2.3m.

Colourlink director Damian Smith is among seven staff to join Service Graphics as part of the deal.

Colourlink was previously part of the Goodspeed Communications group and was bought out of administrative receivership last year (PrintWeek, 16 November 2001). Three months ago it appealed for 300,000 of funding (PrintWeek, 1 March).

Customers for Colourlinks Digital Wallpaper include John Lewis and Harrods. The company had sales of 750,000 last year.

Service Graphics Ben Moss, part of the three-man team that formed the company following the demise of parent group Photobition (PrintWeek, 2 November 2001), said it was on track to achieve its target turnover of 40m for 2002.

"All our outlets are reporting brisk business and we are looking to expand Scanachrome in Skelmersdale and open a sales office in central Manchester," said Moss.

The Ford contract for large-format print graphics was won as part of an internet tender, and will lead to an expansion of the groups Essex site.

Service Graphics has taken on 13 new sales staff across its 14 UK production and support sites.

The group has also completed work producing press backdrops for the 2002 World Cup, a Star Wars project for the Imax Cinema in London, and contract work for the Commonwealth Games.
