At the heart of its Trueflownet brand of workflow is Ritecontrol, a JDF-based production management system that will provide links into pre-press workflow, MIS and the internet.
Four internet-based tools also form part of Trueflownet. Riteonline, a template-based e-ordering tool; Riteportal, for pre-flighted Certified PDF creation; Ritetransfer, for job submission and job ticket creation; and Riteapprove for online proofing.
Version three of Trueflow has an improved user interface and built in artificial intelligence to optimise sharpening and separation of RGB files.
To meet the needs of new CTP customers, a basic workflow Trueflow Rite has been developed. The JDF compatible software is termed as providing a workflow for the price of a RIP.
In CTP the firm is aiming to extend its dominance in B1 and B2 to B3 and VLF, aiming for over 50% market share in these areas by the next Drupa. It will launch newspaper and flexo machines during 2004.
For B3 printers it has introduced a 30mW version of the Micra, which can expose photopolymer plates.
In VLF it has launched the PlateRite 16000 to target the 16pp web market.
It has also introduced a dual head version of the Ultima, the 32000Z, which can produce 46 B1 plates an hour or 15 32pp.
