Scots mills deliver FSC grades

Two Scottish mills have introduced Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified papers.

ArjoWiggins has launched its first FSC range, Conqueror Recycled FSC Certified, following the award of chain of custody to its Stoneywood mill.

Curtis Fine Papers' Classic range of papers will be FSC certified from the summer. This development is one of the largest commitments to FSC certification undertaken by a speciality paper producer.

Curtis became the UK's first speciality mill to achieve FSC certification when it launched Retreeve FSC text and cover papers in 2004.

Arjo's Conqueror range will be one of the first to market under the new FSC mixed source label, with a mix of virgin pulp and recycled fibres. The firm's Ivybridge mill is in the final stages of FSC accreditation.

The grade will be made up of a minimum of 70% FSC certified mixed source virgin pulp, and a minimum of 25% post consumer recycled fibres.
