Scotia saves 5k as PlateRite 4300E buy brings platemaking in-house

Scotia Press has brought its platemaking in-house with the installation of a Screen PlateRite 4300E.

The SRA2 commercial printer said it had saved  £5,000 a month as a result of the PlateRite purchase, which was installed to service its five-colour Komori L26.

Peter Welford, managing director of the Leicester-based printer, said the company chose the PlateRite as a result of Screen's reputation for "good-quality reliable kit".

He added: "We also put in a Single Auto Loader, which has made a huge difference.

"It's so reliable we can just start it running and the next day there can be 100 plates sitting there waiting to go."

The arrival of the platesetter also marked Scotia

Press' first venture into workflow, with the addition of Trueflow Rite.

"Trueflow is very user-friendly," said Welford. "After a day's training, we were up and running and making plates straightaway. It was fantastic that we had no teething troubles."

The company has also recently  installed a Heidelberg Stalh B2 folder, giving it more control of production and finishing.
