The NewsStar, according to the Danish company, can run at a speed of up to 50,000cph and is targeted at larger print houses.
It is able to handle 375 broadsheets of varying formats at once and can be equipped with up to 60 feeders. The format is changed automatically and without tools, and the changeover time is short, the company claims.
The NewsStar has a newly developed type of extraction chain, specifically made for high-speed operation. Schur has said that this assures a highly reliable and non-stop operation.
The ejector wheel of the NewsStar has a larger circumference than the wheels of Schur’s previous feeders. According to the company, this means it is possible to take down four products per revolution of the wheel instead of one, reducing the spacing between the products.
Knud Erik Rødbro, managing director of Schur Packaging Systems, said: “The NewsStar allows us to provide whatever top-notch speed, capacity and flexibility the market might require.
