"We saw an opportunity to create more B1 capacity by shifting work onto a B2 press, while also producing B2 jobs more efficiently," said production director Bob Mooney. "It's been incredibly successful for us."
The 15,000sph five-colour with coater is the Norwich-based firm's first non-Heidelberg press. "We had a look around and the Mitsubishi to us was a very solidly built press, we had several print trials and we were very impressed," said Mooney. "It's proven to be a great success for us."
The firm specified its 700,000 press with extended delivery and to run alcohol free. "Which has been a bonus for us, given the current market in alcohol," said Mooney.
The firm is so impressed with the Diamond, especially its productivity, that Mooney has no doubt that when one of the B1 comes up for replacement in a couple of years, "we'd be silly not to look at a Mitsubishi".
The 4m turnover firm concentrates on general commercial and fine art work, boasting the Tate, National Portrait Gallery and a host of US Museums amongst its clients.
