The DDP 184 cut-sheet system has been bought by Bishop Auckland-based Cov-enant Publishing, which will use it to produce religious publications, having previously outsourced its print.
Anacomp head of printer business development Dun-can Sargeant said the contract was part of the supplier's strategy to push further into the booklet sector.
"It is certainly an area we want to get more involved in," he said. "At the moment, the DDP 184 is most profitable in the direct mail and transactional billing market."
The Ricoh DDP 184 runs at speeds of 92 A4ppm and a standard configuration machine costs 22,850.
Wokingham-based Ana-comp also refurbishes Xerox and IBM printers.
"This kind of machine is a perfect fit for small- to mid-sized companies operating in the large volume market," added Sargeant. "The price is very much dependent on what the customer wants to use it for."
