Covenant buys Ricoh DDP 184 from Anacomp

Anacomp has sold its first Ricoh DDP 184 digital printer into the booklet production market.

The cut-sheet system has been bought by Bishop Auckland-based Covenant Publishing. The firm, which produces religious publications, previously outsourced its print.

According to Anacomp head of printer business development Duncan Sargeant, the contract is part of its strategy to push into the booklet sector.

"It is certainly an area we want to get more involved in," he said. "At the moment, the DDP 184 is most profitable in the direct mail and transactional market."

The Ricoh DDP 184 runs at 92 A4ppm and a standard configuration machine costs 22,850.

As well as selling Ricoh kit, Anacomp, which is based in Wokingham, Berkshire, refurbishes Xerox and IBM printers.
